Greetings, Adventurers!
New World: Aeternum has been keeping players on their toes with its latest Update 1.3.27, scheduled for downtime at 5:00 a.m. PT (1:00 p.m. UTC) on June 3rd, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. For those eagerly awaiting new content and improvements, this update promises to bring several noteworthy changes and fixes.
Seasonal Server 2: A Hardcore Experience
One of the most exciting introductions this update includes is the launch of Seasonal Server 2, designed specifically for those seeking a hardcore gaming experience. Here’s what’s new:
No Main Questline
This server ditching the traditional main questline allows players to dive into a new, expedited questline. This revamped pathway is crafted to help players reach the maximum level in just about 6 hours. As part of this experience, you’ll also encounter Azerite Tailings, a new mechanic that revolutionizes character progression.
Azerite Tailings
Azerite Tailings are unique items dropped from various locations throughout the world. They can be used to craft specialized inventory caches, offering a much quicker way to gear up your character compared to standard loot drops. These caches can yield essential items, including consumables, gear, and materials for enhancing perks on artifacts.
Artifacts Unlimited
On this special server, you can equip an unlimited number of artifacts, beckoning players to experiment with unique gameplay combinations. This flexibility brings a fresh dynamic to encounters. Along with the artifacts comes a new status effect during war, providing heightened attributes post-death while balancing the defensive capabilities of artifacts.
Death Status Effects
A unique twist sees players categorized as Unfallen or Fallen based on whether they have died in-game. While the Unfallen state allows for specific challenges and grants bonuses, Fallen characters gain strength every time they "fall." It’s a refreshing take on the hardcore experience, balancing risk and reward.
Earnable Rewards
Seasonal Server 2 introduces new rewards, including Raw Orichalcite Stone and Runewood Resin, enabling characters to craft artifacts and T3 trophies, respectively. Additional cosmetics and titles will also be up for grabs, though they must be claimed through your main characters.
Important Note on Expansion
To fully partake in this hardcore server, players will need the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion, emphasizing the intent to push character limits and test endgame capabilities.
Expeditions Unleashed
The Expeditions Unleashed feature introduces a dynamic health scaling system for encounters, adjusting the health of monsters and bosses based on the number of players present. This change aims to ensure that increased player numbers yield both advantages and longer, more exciting encounters without overwhelming server performance.
After gathering feedback and server data, developers have carefully adjusted the scaling boundaries to better accommodate larger groups in future boss events, enhancing the gameplay experience.
Combat & Game Modes Adjustments
Several adjustments have been made to combat mechanics:
- Bow and Musket Damage Buffs: The bow’s damage receives a 1.86% boost, while the musket sees a 1.68% increase in PvP settings.
- Upheaval and Vital Synergy Tweaks: Attack damage from Upheaval has been reduced slightly, and the lifesteal for Vampire’s Vestments has been increased from 10% to 17%.
- General PvP Fixes: Issues concerning damage values in Arenas and other gameplay mechanics have been addressed, improving overall balance.
AI and Expedition Fixes
The update also tackles several issues related to AI encounters, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience:
- Players will no longer climb onto Green Keepers’ boulder attacks, enhancing the integrity of poison pool mechanics.
- Various other fixes address specific bugs that could disrupt combat encounters, ensuring players can fully engage with the game’s challenges.
General Enhancements
Overall stability is a key focus for this update:
- Players on PlayStation can expect fixes related to stability and crashes.
- Issues with character appearances during the selection screen have been resolved to improve overall user experience.
- Adjustments to the Activity Finder timer and queue status for modes like Capture the Flag have been implemented to streamline gameplay.
World Adjustments
Map integrity also sees improvements, particularly with the Sandwurm encounter, where collisions and spawn mechanics have been refined to prevent players from becoming stuck or falling through the world.
With all these updates, New World: Aeternum is set to enhance the gameplay experience, pushing the boundaries of character development and offering unique and engaging challenges for adventurers ready to embrace the new features.
Thanks for your continued support, and gather your friends—Aeternum awaits!
