Area15: A New Frontier in Experiential Art and Entertainment
Nestled in the heart of Las Vegas, Area15 is not just another entertainment venue; it’s a groundbreaking experiential art and entertainment complex that redefines how we engage with art, technology, and storytelling. With a unique blend of immersive installations, cutting-edge technology, and a vibrant retail and food and beverage scene, Area15 invites visitors to step into a world where creativity knows no bounds.
A Canvas of Creativity: Art Island
At the core of Area15’s artistic offerings is Art Island, a permanent gallery that showcases a stunning array of artwork inspired by festivals and cultural celebrations. One of the standout features of this gallery is the ever-evolving Japanese maple tree, adorned with over 5,000 LED lights that create a mesmerizing canopy. This installation not only serves as a visual feast but also embodies the spirit of transformation and renewal, making it a perfect metaphor for the creative energy that pulses through Area15.
The Vision Behind Area15
Winston Fisher, the CEO of Area15, encapsulates the essence of this innovative space when he states, “It’s a cool space; it’s entertainment, it’s amusement.” He emphasizes that Area15 is fundamentally a storytelling company, striving to create authentic experiences that resonate with visitors. “At the end of the day, we’re building an imagination box,” Fisher explains. This philosophy underpins every aspect of Area15, where the focus is not on perfection but on the flourishing of creative expression.
Immersive Experiences: Gallerie 360 and Beyond
One of the highlights of Area15 is Gallerie 360 Inside The Portal, an immersive audio and visual experience housed within a 360-degree projection-mapped room. This space invites visitors to lose themselves in a sensory journey that blurs the lines between reality and imagination. Another captivating installation is Shogyo Mujo, a giant skull created by Bart Kresa Studio and Joshua Harker, which features intricate 3D projection mapping that interacts with viewers, creating a dynamic dialogue between art and audience.
Wink World: Portals to the Infinite
Adding to the allure of Area15 is Wink World: Portals to the Infinite, a project by Chris Wink, co-founder of the Blue Man Group. This art and entertainment experience features six infinity mirror rooms, each presenting a unique production number enhanced by black light and dynamic stage effects. The Aliume 3D Psychedelic Art Gallery further enriches this experience, offering a kaleidoscopic journey through vibrant colors and imaginative designs.
The John Wick Experience
For fans of action cinema, the John Wick Experience offers an immersive dive into the world of the iconic film franchise. Inspired by the global box office success of the John Wick series, this attraction combines elements of cinema and interactive entertainment, allowing visitors to step into the shoes of their favorite characters and experience the thrill of the narrative firsthand.
Fork n’ Film: A Culinary Adventure
Area15 also reimagines the dining experience with Fork n’ Film, an immersive cinema and dining concept that serves dishes inspired by classic movies. As scenes unfold on screen, guests enjoy meals that correspond to the action, creating a multi-sensory environment that tantalizes both the palate and the imagination. The use of cutting-edge visuals and surround sound enhances this unique dining experience, making it a memorable outing for foodies and film buffs alike.
Expanding Horizons: The Future of Area15
The vision for Area15 is ever-expanding, with plans for a significant 20-acre expansion that will introduce new attractions and experiences. The anchor tenant will be Horror Unleashed, a year-round horror entertainment attraction developed by Universal Destinations & Experiences, inspired by the renowned Halloween Horror Nights. Fisher describes this upcoming addition as “incredible and standout,” highlighting the excitement surrounding this collaboration.
The expansion will encompass over 450,000 square feet, including nearly 110,000 square feet dedicated to Universal’s attraction. Additionally, the development will feature flexible food and beverage spaces, retail options, and even a repurposed Boeing 747 airplane as an event venue. With over 85,000 square feet earmarked for pop-ups and outdoor activities, the new Area15 promises to be a hub of creativity and entertainment.
A Vision Realized
As the expansion progresses, Fisher notes that the development is already 60% leased, with tenants that reflect the transformative vision of Area15. Future attractions will include the Museum of Ice Cream, iFLY indoor skydiving, and Felix & Paul Studios’ Interstellar Arc, among others. “The caliber of tenants joining us illustrates the scope and scale of the transformative vision we’re pioneering in Las Vegas,” Fisher states, emphasizing the commitment to creating an unparalleled destination for exploration and immersive entertainment.
In a world where experiences are increasingly valued, Area15 stands out as a beacon of creativity, innovation, and community engagement. It’s a place where art, technology, and storytelling converge, inviting everyone to explore the limitless possibilities of imagination.
