Honey Ross, the daughter of British television presenter Jonathan Ross, is embracing the Welsh language, thanks to her boyfriend, YouTuber Gav Murphy. Murphy revealed that Honey, 28, has been using the Duolingo app to learn Welsh and practices speaking it to their dog, Coco. This unique approach highlights her commitment to mastering the language while also showcasing a playful side to her learning process.

Murphy, 41, shared insights about their relationship during an appearance on BBC Radio Cymru’s ‘Beti a’i Phobol.’ He noted that their connection blossomed over a shared passion for films, leading to hours of conversation that have continued since they first met on Instagram. “We just talked about films for six or seven hours, and we haven’t stopped talking about films since,” he said.

As Honey immerses herself in Welsh culture, Murphy expressed admiration for her learning abilities, particularly her impressive memory. “It’s really good because she’s so clever and has this memory – her memory is bonkers,” he remarked, emphasizing how her cognitive skills aid her in acquiring a new language.

This development not only reflects Honey’s personal growth but also highlights the increasing interest in learning minority languages like Welsh, especially among younger generations. As more individuals seek to connect with their heritage or explore new cultures, Honey’s journey serves as an inspiring example of how language learning can be both fun and meaningful.

For those interested in health and wellness, engaging in language learning has been shown to have cognitive benefits, including improved memory and enhanced problem-solving skills. This aligns with the broader trend of incorporating mental exercises into daily routines to promote overall well-being.

As Honey continues her Welsh language journey, it will be interesting to see how her experiences influence her personal and professional life, as well as her connection to her family’s cultural roots.

According to BBC News, Honey’s dedication to learning Welsh is a testament to her adventurous spirit and willingness to embrace new challenges.
