Qatar’s real estate trading volume surged to QAR 583.1 million ($160 million) during the week of September 20 to 24, marking a significant rebound from the previous week. This increase, reported by the Real Estate Registration Department at the Qatar Ministry of Justice, reflects a diverse range of transactions, including residential units, land, and commercial properties, as detailed in the department’s latest weekly bulletin.
The total sales contracts registered during this five-day period amounted to QAR 516,362,618, with an additional QAR 66,738,529 from residential-unit sales. This brings the overall trading activity for the week to QAR 583,101,147, a notable rise of approximately 57% compared to the previous week, where total property sales were reported at QAR 370.99 million.
Widespread Transactions
Transactions during this period spanned various property categories and municipalities across Qatar. The Ministry of Justice noted that properties sold included vacant land, houses, residential buildings, a service building, and commercial properties. Sales activity was recorded in multiple areas, including Al Rayyan, Doha, Umm Salal, Al Wakrah, Al Daayen, Al Khor, Al Dhakira, and Al Shamal, indicating a broad geographic distribution.
Notably, the latest figures show a diversification in property types traded, contrasting with previous weeks where sales were more concentrated. The previous week’s transactions primarily involved vacant land, houses, and residential buildings, while the latest week included additional categories.
Residential Sales Steady
Residential-unit contracts contributed QAR 66.74 million to the total trading volume, while the broader category of property sales accounted for QAR 516.36 million. This indicates that transactions outside the residential-unit category dominated the week’s activity. Despite fluctuations, residential-unit sales have remained relatively stable, with figures hovering around QAR 65 million to QAR 71 million in recent weeks.
The latest total of QAR 583.10 million brings trading activity back to levels seen at the beginning of September, following two weeks where totals fell below QAR 400 million. This rebound suggests a renewed momentum in Qatar’s real estate sector, as highlighted by the comprehensive data from the Ministry of Justice. For further details, visit Economy Middle East.
