Linesight, a global construction consultancy, has announced the appointment of John Butler as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 January 2027. Butler will take over from Paul Boylan, who will continue to play a significant role as Group CEO of IPS-Integrated Project Services, LLC (IPS), overseeing a group that includes Linesight and Springtide, which collectively employs over 4,500 people and generates approximately US $2 billion in net revenue, as reported by ME Construction News.
Under Boylan’s leadership, Linesight has expanded significantly, growing from 20 offices and 700 employees in 2021 to 44 offices across 30 countries with more than 2,500 staff today. The company has consistently achieved year-on-year revenue growth between 15% and 24% and anticipates continued double-digit growth over the next three years.
Butler, who has been with Linesight for 25 years, has held various leadership roles across the UK, EMEA, and APAC regions. He has been instrumental in developing Linesight’s APAC and Middle East operations, which have grown to over 600 employees across 10 offices and eight markets. This region now supports some of Linesight’s largest global clients, including four of the top 10 technology companies in the Fortune Global 500, and has successfully delivered over 200 data centre projects across 15 countries.
As he steps into his new role, Butler aims to enhance Linesight’s global presence, strengthen its capabilities, and continue building high-performing, diverse teams to meet the evolving needs of clients. He expressed pride in his appointment and gratitude for Boylan’s leadership, highlighting the company’s strong reputation and commitment to understanding client needs.
Scott Halyday will succeed Butler as Managing Director for APAC and the GCC, also effective 1 January 2027. Halyday, who joined Linesight in 2018, brings over 20 years of experience in leading complex programmes and client relationships across APAC and international markets. He will oversee a strategically important region for Linesight, which spans eight markets and a diverse client base.
Boylan praised Butler’s leadership qualities and deep understanding of the business, stating that his extensive experience positions him well to guide Linesight into its next growth phase. Butler’s vision for the future includes leveraging the company’s expertise to expand its reach in markets where clients are investing and growing.
