Tesla has officially launched the Model Y L Premium, a new six-seat variant of its highly successful Model Y. With an extended wheelbase of 150 mm and an overall length increase of 179 mm, the new model offers a three-row seating arrangement that accommodates six passengers comfortably. The vehicle’s roof design has been optimized to provide an additional 70 mm of headroom in the second row, enhancing the overall comfort. The third row has been specifically engineered to accommodate taller passengers, and the rear shoulder room has been expanded by 20 mm without increasing the vehicle’s width.
The innovative body architecture of the Model Y L Premium allows for a best-in-class cargo space of 2,539 liters. Even with all six seats occupied, the rear trunk can hold two large suitcases and a cabin-size trolley bag, while the front trunk can accommodate an additional cabin-size bag. When the third row is folded flat, the total cargo capacity increases to six large suitcases.

The interior of the Model Y L Premium is designed for maximum comfort, featuring three spacious rows adorned with premium handcrafted textiles. The second-row captain’s chairs come equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen for climate control, gaming, and entertainment. These seats also feature powered armrests, one-touch folding, ventilation, heating, and 8-way power adjustment with a recline of up to 125 degrees. The third row offers similar conveniences, including power recline and dedicated climate control. Both the second and third rows have charging ports and can fold completely flat.
To minimize road noise, the Model Y L Premium includes acoustic glass and 19-inch Machina 2.0 Wheels. A premium audio system with 19 speakers ensures an immersive listening experience for all passengers.
Safety and Driving Dynamics
Safety is a top priority for Tesla, and the Model Y L Premium is equipped with comprehensive safety features. It includes side curtain airbags for the first and second rows, as well as dedicated airbags for the third row, providing full side-impact protection for all occupants. Reinforced floor beams and a new integrated die-cast rear underbody enhance structural rigidity and reduce the risk of intrusion during side impacts.
