Digital Transformation Journey Strengthens at ANGOTIC 2026 in Luanda
The sixth edition of the ANGOTIC – International Information and Communication Technologies Forum is set to take place in Luanda, Angola, at the Talatona Convention Centre from June 11 to June 13, 2026. This year’s theme, “On the Road to Digital Transformation,” underscores the significant advancements made by the Angolan government in enhancing its information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure.
Advancements in ICT Infrastructure
The Angolan government has made notable strides in recent years, focusing on the development and expansion of ICT infrastructure. Key initiatives include the launch of ANGOSAT-2, the National Space Programme, and the National Broadband Network Project. Additionally, the expansion of fibre-optic networks, particularly through the 2Africa submarine cable, has been pivotal in improving connectivity. The implementation of the INAMET modernisation programme and the introduction of Digital Terrestrial Television further exemplify these efforts. Recently, the commissioning of the Government Data Centre and Cloud Platform has also contributed to enhancing service delivery.
These initiatives have not only improved access to telecommunications and information technology services for citizens but have also encouraged service providers to develop tailored solutions for both businesses and individuals.
ANGOTIC as a Platform for Innovation
ANGOTIC serves as an international platform designed to foster relationships within the ICT sector. The event will feature exhibitions showcasing innovative products and services, alongside presentations and discussions addressing current ICT challenges. It aims to facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives, promote new products, and strengthen partnerships through agreements and business meetings.
In response to market demands, ANGOTIC will introduce a Startup Zone and a Kids Zone, both of which will offer a dynamic schedule of activities and experiences.
Startup Zone: Nurturing Entrepreneurship
The Startup Zone is designed with an inclusive approach, featuring several key components such as the Entrepreneurship Support Centre, Investment Centre, Artificial Intelligence for Business Training Room, Digital Payments Hub, and a Hackathon focused on Artificial Intelligence and Space Technology.
At the Entrepreneurship Support Centre, participants can explore various stages of business establishment, including idea development, financing, feasibility studies, and company registration through the One-Stop Business Registration Office (Guiché Único da Empresa). Additionally, startups will have the opportunity to obtain INAPEM certification, which provides benefits such as tax exemptions and eligibility for public tenders.
The Investment Centre will offer investment solutions for businesses and micro-enterprises, as well as access to microcredit opportunities. The Digital Payments Hub will facilitate partnerships with Pay4All for integrating payment solutions, enhancing efficiency in financial transactions.
Kids Zone: Engaging the Next Generation
The Kids Zone aims to engage children, teenagers, students, and families through various educational activities. Key offerings include:
- Kids Tech Academy: Focused on electronics and programming for children.
- ITEL Creator Studio: Dedicated to podcasting, vector photography, and digital content creation.
