UAE Ministry of Defence Strengthens Strategic Healthcare Partnerships Ahead of ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026
The UAE Ministry of Defence has formalized two strategic partnership agreements with M42, a tech-enabled integrated healthcare entity, and Burjeel Holdings, a super-specialty healthcare services provider. This initiative supports the upcoming 46th World Congress of Military Medicine – ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026, scheduled to take place from November 9 to 13, 2026, in Abu Dhabi.
The agreements were signed during the “Make it in the Emirates 2026” event, attended by notable figures including Sheikh Zayed bin Mansour bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Head of Strategic Collaborations at M42; Major General Staff Ayesha Sultan Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Military Health Executive Directorate; Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42; and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings.
Strengthening Military Healthcare Collaboration
The signing of these agreements involved key representatives from the Ministry of Defence, including Brigadier Staff Saeed Salem Al Hefeiti and Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Al Naqbi. They were joined by Omran Al Khoori, a member of the Board of Directors at Burjeel Holdings, and Dr. Ali Anees, Chief Operating Officer of M42’s Global Patient Care Platform in the UAE and Bahrain.
The partnership, themed “Unified Care. Global Impact,” is part of the Ministry of Defence’s ongoing efforts to enhance the healthcare ecosystem in support of the congress. It aims to foster collaboration between leading healthcare institutions in both military and civilian medicine.
ICMM Abu Dhabi 2026, organized by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the ADNEC Group, serves as an international scientific platform. It will bring together medical and military leaders, experts, and practitioners from over 120 countries to exchange knowledge, review scientific advancements, and strengthen international cooperation in healthcare systems and operational medicine.
Major General Staff Ayesha Sultan Al Dhaheri emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with strategic partners to deliver a congress that showcases the UAE’s advanced capabilities in military and civilian healthcare. She noted that the partnership with Burjeel Holdings is crucial for enhancing medical readiness and facilitating knowledge exchange, contributing to the development of resilient healthcare systems at both national and international levels.
