Asendia and Singapore Post Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance APAC Cross-Border E-commerce Logistics
PARIS, FRANCE – 7 May 2026 – Asendia, a prominent player in international e-commerce and mail solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Singapore Post (SingPost), a leading logistics provider in the e-commerce sector. This collaboration aims to enhance cross-border e-commerce logistics capabilities, thereby improving delivery performance, scalability, and market access for businesses operating in and out of Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Strengthening Singapore’s Role as a Logistics Gateway
The partnership is set to reinforce Singapore’s position as a critical gateway for cross-border e-commerce. Nearly 75% of online shoppers in Singapore have made purchases from international sellers, making the country a vital destination for global merchants. Additionally, Singapore serves as a crucial logistics hub, connecting millions of online consumers across the Asia-Pacific region.
Navigating the 2026 EU Customs Reform
This partnership arrives at a pivotal moment as global regulators work to close taxation gaps that have historically affected the sector. Starting 1 July 2026, the European Union will eliminate the €150 de minimis customs duty exemption, introducing a flat €3 customs duty on all low-value imports. These regulatory changes aim to create a level playing field for traditional retail and have already been implemented in several countries since March, where national handling fees have been introduced. Asendia and SingPost are collaborating to provide Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) solutions to the EU, facilitating a “frictionless corridor” for merchants navigating this transition.
Mark Chong, CEO of SingPost, remarked on the significance of the partnership, stating that it comes at a critical juncture for global trade. The recent suspension of de minimis exemptions in the U.S. and the upcoming EU reforms present new challenges for exporting businesses. By extending their cross-border partnerships, the companies aim to support businesses in managing these complexities, ensuring continued market access while minimizing delivery friction and the risk of doorstep rejections.
Enhancing E-commerce Operations for Global Sellers
The collaboration builds on Asendia’s established presence in the region, including the recent launch of its Singapore Hub operation. International brands and sellers on platforms such as Amazon, eBay, and Etsy will benefit from more efficient parcel shipping into Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific area.
Through Asendia’s extensive international network, SingPost’s Singapore-based e-commerce customers will gain access to a broader range of reliable options for scaling their operations across new markets. This includes delivery capabilities to Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, and Oceania, supported by a diverse ecosystem of last-mile partners. Conversely, Asendia’s customers will enjoy improved access to Singapore, Southeast Asia, and the broader APAC corridor via SingPost’s robust infrastructure.
Merchants collaborating with both organizations will have access to a comprehensive suite of delivery solutions, including Asendia’s e-PAQ Home Delivery, e-PAQ Out-of-Home Delivery, and e-PAQ Returns.
Lionel Berthe, Head of APAC at Asendia, highlighted the findings from Asendia’s Beyond Borders survey, which indicated that 32% of retailers in the APAC region identify border delays, customs clearance, and cross-border returns as significant friction points. He emphasized that this partnership directly addresses these challenges, focusing on Singapore as a core market while enabling scalable and cost-effective cross-border growth throughout the region.
Background on the Beyond Borders Study
The Beyond Borders survey, conducted in early 2026, involved over 1,000 global e-commerce professionals, including senior decision-makers from retail businesses engaged in cross-border e-commerce across four regions: the UK, the USA, Europe, and APAC. The survey was executed by Censuswide under MRS guidelines.
