Khalifa Fund Strengthens Support for National Entrepreneurs at ‘Make it in the Emirates’ 2026
Strategic Partnerships to Enhance Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) is set to participate in the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ 2026 event, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from May 4 to 7, 2026. This year’s theme, ‘Emerging Stronger,’ underscores KFED’s commitment to fortifying the entrepreneurship ecosystem, empowering startups, and enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the industrial sector.
During the event, KFED will showcase a variety of evolving programs and strategic partnerships aimed at empowering national enterprises and connecting them with growth opportunities in both local and international markets. The Fund will highlight the achievements of seven Emirati SMEs across diverse sectors, including agricultural technology, healthcare artificial intelligence, machinery manufacturing, distribution, and food processing. This representation illustrates the extensive diversity and competitiveness of the UAE’s industrial landscape.
Innovative Programs and Initiatives
KFED’s pavilion will provide visitors with a comprehensive view of its integrated entrepreneur empowerment journey. The Fund offers several key services, including the “We Listen” initiative, which provides personalized advisory sessions tailored to the specific needs of entrepreneurs and SMEs. Additionally, the “Funding on the Spot” program allows entrepreneurs to apply for funding directly at the event, offering instant eligibility assessments and preliminary approvals for qualifying projects. Attendees can also register for various training programs provided by the MZN Business Accelerators located in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.
Her Excellency Mouza Obaid Al Nasri, CEO of KFED, emphasized the Fund’s vital role in advancing the entrepreneurship ecosystem. She stated that KFED aims to create an integrated support system that connects funding with talent, specialized skills, and market access. This strategic approach is designed to foster resilient entrepreneurship capabilities and prepare ventures for sustainable growth, both locally and globally.
Focus on Collaboration and Growth
As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration within the entrepreneurship ecosystem, KFED plans to sign five strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the event. These agreements will be established with key public and private sector entities, including:
- Etihad Airways: To facilitate access for SMEs to the Group’s transport and logistics ecosystem.
- TAQA Distribution: To explore opportunities within the utilities and energy sector.
- United Arab Emirates University (UAEU): To leverage academic and research capabilities for joint accelerator programs and incubators.
- Rotana Hotel Management Corporation: To promote procurement from KFED-supported local suppliers in the hospitality sector.
- Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT): To bolster innovation, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
These partnerships are expected to unlock new avenues for SMEs, enhancing their contributions to the UAE’s industrial economy.
