Doha Festival City Strengthens Sustainability Focus with Two-Day Sustainable Futures Programme
Doha, Qatar – Doha Festival City, a premier retail and lifestyle destination in Qatar, in collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar Qatar, is set to launch Sustainable Futures, a two-day immersive programme dedicated to sustainability in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. The event will take place on April 15–16 at Centre Court.
Emphasis on Sustainability and Local Talent
The Sustainable Futures programme aims to unite prominent global brands, local creatives, and industry leaders, with a strong focus on sustainability and community engagement. This initiative builds on the Emerging Voices platform, first introduced in 2024, which highlights the creative talents in Qatar. The programme will provide a stage for designers, artists, and innovators who are contributing to a more sustainable future.
Innovative Sustainability Exhibition
Central to the event will be a groundbreaking Sustainability Exhibition, featuring leading brands from Doha Festival City alongside local initiatives in partnership with Scale7 and M7. The exhibition will also include a pre-loved pop-up concept from PrePorter Qatar and editorial imagery curated by Harper’s Bazaar Qatar, showcasing the evolving definition of sustainability across various industries.
Art and Design Integration
For the first time, the Emerging Voices segment will showcase artworks from notable artists through Intajat, a cultural platform founded by Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani. This initiative aims to promote Qatari and Qatar-based artists through curated exhibitions and community-driven collaborations. Featured artists include Nasser Al Kubaisi, Yuliya Drazdovich, Sheetal Dandekar, Lina Al Ali, and Amira Al-Namla.
The programme will also see the return of Scale7, Qatar’s inaugural fashion and design business incubator, and M7, the hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in design, fashion, and technology. Sustainable Futures will highlight the work of M7’s Mhefhef and Gigeez, along with Scale7’s Tagreed Omer, LUMI, and Hindami, alongside local brands such as Zero Waste Abaya, SewnThreads, Vandella, SR by Sonali Raman, and Gills Manjulakshmi.
