The curtain rises once again on We Create Drama, the exciting film festival hosted by Paramount Hotels. Since its inception in 2022, this festival has evolved into a dynamic platform for emerging filmmakers and fearless storytellers, showcasing their talents and shaping the future of cinema.

A Dramatic Return

This fourth season of We Create Drama promises to be bolder and more dramatic than ever, with Paramount Hotel Midtown participating for the first time. These iconic hotels will transform from luxurious getaways into creative hubs, fostering innovation and collaboration among filmmakers from around the world. By offering emerging talents a canvas to realize their visions, the festival aims to continue the legacy of Paramount Pictures and the groundbreaking films that have influenced the industry.

A Vision of Creativity

At the core of Paramount Hotels lies the brand vision “For the Creative, By the Creative.” This ethos permeates every collaborative effort and guest experience within the hotels, firmly establishing them as more than just places to stay. This year’s festival embodies this narrative wholeheartedly, promising to be a thrilling showcase of undiscovered talent.

Expanded Submission Guidelines

To broaden its reach, the festival now accepts submissions through Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, welcoming a new generation of storytellers. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit scripts that ignite drama and break creative boundaries, with each submission needing to be 3 to 10 minutes long and comply with professional standards, including a log line and synopsis.

What makes this season unique is the challenge: all films must be shot entirely within the stunning confines of Paramount Hotel Dubai or Paramount Hotel Midtown within a single 24-hour filming window. This high-pressure environment is set to spark unique creativity and unforgettable stories.

The Production Journey

A distinguished panel of judges, comprising industry experts and acclaimed filmmakers, will review the entries to select 12 standout scripts. Selected filmmakers will embark on an exhilarating production journey starting in May, equipped with professional filmmaking gear provided by festival partners like Nikon Middle East FZE, Aputure, and Grand Stores.

The shooting window runs from May 12 to May 29, with each team granted a 24-hour slot at selected hotel locations. The intensity of this limited timeframe will undoubtedly amplify the creativity and resourcefulness of participants.

An Elevated Finale

This year will see an innovative twist, allowing a week-long opportunity to screen the short films at both Paramount Hotel Dubai and Paramount Hotel Midtown. This unique aspect provides filmmakers with a broader audience for their work. Additionally, the festival will feature a series of filmmaking workshops led by industry experts covering everything from scriptwriting to advanced filming techniques, enhancing the experience for aspiring filmmakers.

Participants have the chance to vie for several prestigious awards, including:

• Director of the Year
• Actor & Actress of the Year
• Writer of the Year
• DOP of the Year

Introducing the Short Film Corner

A new segment called the Short Film Corner will showcase selected short films ahead of the grand finale, offering an opportunity for additional exposure. Highlights of this feature include:

Filmmakers eager to make their mark in the industry can submit their scripts via social media or email, allowing teams of up to five members to officially participate in the competition.
