Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Announces Innovators Competition Results
The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences recently revealed the results of the eighth edition of its Innovators Competition, a highlight event held at the Fab Lab UAE. This competition showcases the impressive talents and innovative capabilities of entrants from various backgrounds.
Growth in Participation
Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Foundation, commented on the results for the 2025 Innovators Competition, emphasizing the significant increase in participation. He noted a remarkable 70% rise in entries compared to the previous edition. This surge in interest primarily stems from heightened engagement among university students and professionals alike. Dr. Al Suwaidi pointed out that this trend underscores the growing acknowledgment of innovation as a critical avenue for developing practical solutions and enhancing overall performance.
“The competition offers a structured and competitive framework based on clear criteria, allowing participants to systematically present their projects. This emphasis on feasibility and added value is essential,” he explained. The diverse academic and professional backgrounds of the participants further illustrate that innovation is transcending traditional boundaries, showcasing a commitment to creating implementable solutions for real-world challenges.
Winning Projects Highlight Innovation
The eighth edition concluded with three standout projects recognized as winners.

VocaBuddy: This innovative concept was presented by Erdzean Nathaniel Omalde and Mary Jean Omalde.

Innovative Noise Monitoring Device: Developed by a team consisting of Noura Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Hussein Haj Sharif, and Waddah Talal Al Fateh, this project represents a new frontier in environmental monitoring.

AutoNurse: This project, presented by Abdullah Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi and Fatima Rashid Awad, showcases advancements in healthcare technology.
In addition to the main prizes, the competition also awarded two recognition awards. The BioBone Printer offered by Fahad Namir Saghir and Mohammed Yahya Al Mahamid, and Terra-ping, presented by Mohammed Hamdan Mohammed, Muayad Fadl Al Moula, Aatish Shibu Nair, and Jedah Alaska Mariano, were both acknowledged for their innovative concepts. A specialized panel of judges, made up of experts in innovation and applied technologies, evaluated submissions based not only on originality but also on feasibility and practical application.
