Today marks the kickoff of the 37th edition of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club. We are thrilled to begin another extraordinary chapter in what has affectionately been termed “The Major of the Middle East.”
Celebrating Two Decades of Excellence
This year holds special importance as it commemorates 20 years since Rory McIlroy graced this prestigious tournament for the first time. Since that historic debut, Rory has forged an impressive legacy, transforming into one of the tournament’s standout champions. Returning this year not only as a beloved competitor but also as a four-time champion, he aims to claim another Dallah trophy—an appropriate way to celebrate two decades of golf history in Dubai.
A Stellar Line-Up
We’re proud to present an exceptional roster of participants for this week’s competition. In addition to Rory, the field includes the defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, Ryder Cup stars such as Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, and Shane Lowry, along with former World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, who is making his Hero Dubai Desert Classic debut. We also extend a warm welcome to Ahmad Skaik, who will make history as the first Emirati professional to compete in this iconic tournament.
