The Event Details

Under the glorious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the HH The Ruler of Dubai Court Race for Elite Men is set to take place tomorrow. This thrilling event is part of the 10th anniversary of the Al Salam Cycling Championship, and promises both competitive spirit and remarkable skill on display.

The race is organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, featuring some of the sharpest talents in cycling vying for a prize pool of Dh1 million. This elite competition not only showcases exceptional riders but also highlights the commitment of Dubai to hosting world-class sporting events.

A Rich Legacy of Excitement

This year’s Elite Men’s race marks the second consecutive year of collaboration with HH The Ruler’s Court of Dubai, following last year’s successful edition. The previous race enjoyed a unique route that began in the vibrant heart of Dubai and showcased major cultural and urban landmarks before concluding at the picturesque Al Marmoom Reserve in Saih Al Salam. Organizers have stressed that the event’s success is a result of close cooperation with various government entities, ensuring a smooth and high-profile sporting experience.

Celebrating a Decade of Excellence

The 10th edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship is marked by the slogan ‘Ten Years of Achievements and Success.’ This milestone celebration acknowledges the competition’s growth to become the largest of its kind in Dubai, known for its diversity and inclusivity across various racing categories. The event has attracted strong participation, igniting fierce competition among cyclists from all backgrounds.

Kicking off the championship was the UAE Men’s Amateur Race, themed ‘Safety and Security,’ which took place last month in partnership with Dubai Police. Starting from the Dubai Police Academy headquarters, this race underscored the importance of organizing secure and safe sporting events, setting a positive tone for the championship.

New Features and Future Races

Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, the Director General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, announced that this year will feature five races, including a new women’s desert race scheduled for January 31. This development reflects Dubai’s unwavering commitment to empowering women in sports.

Throughout its nine previous editions and the events from the current championship, the Al Salam Cycling Championship has hosted a total of 41 races, with over 5,100 riders—a mix of both men and women—covering an impressive distance of nearly 4,900 kilometers across Dubai. As a testament to its competitive nature, 2,685 participants claimed victory in their respective races, receiving various prize money awards.

The updated schedule for the championship includes the Women’s Race on January 25, the Women’s Desert Race on January 31, and the Men’s Desert Race on February 1, 2026. The Elite Men’s race will start from His Highness the Ruler’s Court, a historical landmark that embodies both the traditional and modern aspects of Dubai.

Capturing the Action

For the second consecutive year, the Championship Photography Competition is set to run alongside the cycling events, in partnership with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award. Both amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to register by January 26 to capture the action on the track and the iconic cityscapes of Dubai. The winners of each race will be rewarded, receiving prizes of Dh12,000 for first place, Dh8,000 for second place, and Dh5,000 for third place.

Support from Strategic Partners

The Championship enjoys backing from several strategic partners including Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Sports Council, the Government of Dubai Media Office, Dubai Sports Channel, the UAE Cycling Federation, and Dubai Film. Their support underscores the commitment to enhancing the sporting landscape in Dubai and fostering a vibrant cycling community.

The coming days promise to be an exhilarating celebration of athleticism and community spirit, as Dubai continues to pave the way for world-class sporting events.
