World of Coffee Dubai 2026: Elevating the Global Coffee Scene

Overview of the Upcoming Event

The World of Coffee Dubai 2026 is set to take place from January 18 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, reaffirming its position as a vital international trade platform for coffee enthusiasts and professionals. This year, the event will showcase three distinctive auctions under the Dubai Coffee Auction by DMCC brand, expanding on last year’s remarkable success where select micro-lots fetched over $10,000 per kilogram—some of the highest prices recorded globally.

Unique Auction Offerings

The expanded auction program will feature some of the world’s finest coffees, sourced from renowned farms and emerging producers, as well as exclusive coffee equipment that emphasizes Dubai’s role as a bridge between origin markets and global consumers.

Collaboration and Coordination

Organized by DMCC and DXB LIVE, alongside M-Cultivo (a global platform for premium coffee auctions), the three auctions aim to enhance transparency, innovation, and market access for both buyers and sellers. This collaborative effort seeks to redefine the auction model, establishing a digital ecosystem that increases market efficiency and fosters international commerce in premium coffee.

The Digital Auction Experience

This innovative format allows buyers to participate remotely, providing them with thorough and verified information about each lot. Enhanced by modern technology, this model prioritizes transparency and traceability of the coffee sold, highlighting Dubai’s world-class infrastructure and commitment to digital innovation. As a result, the auctions are set to redefine the future landscape of global coffee trade.

Insights from DMCC Leadership

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, remarked on the success of last year’s inaugural auction, emphasizing the significant growth of the UAE coffee market, valued at over $3.5 billion. With projections indicating this could reach $4.5 billion by 2029, the expanded program for 2026 aims to showcase more diverse producers and varietals to an international audience. The aim is to create a fully integrated platform that connects producers, traders, and consumers while enhancing price discovery and building trust across the coffee value chain.

DXB LIVE’s Commitment to the Coffee Sector

Khalid Al Hammadi, Senior Vice President of DXB LIVE, acknowledged Dubai’s evolving status as a key player in the global coffee industry. He noted that the expanded auction program is a testament to the event’s success in attracting leading brands to the emirate, further contributing to the growth of the global coffee ecosystem.

Auction Schedule

The event will feature three signature auctions over the course of three days:

Day 1: Dubai Coffee Equipment Auction

Opening the event, this auction will offer limited edition coffee equipment that is not available for retail anywhere else. This exclusive offering aims to draw interest from both trade buyers and consumers, highlighting innovative craftsmanship in coffee equipment.

Day 2: Microlot Coffee Auction

The second day will focus on specialty microlots from leading farms in regions such as Panama, Colombia, Ethiopia, Yemen, and Taiwan. Buyers will have the chance to participate in cupping sessions before live bidding, offering an immersive experience that highlights the complexity and craftsmanship of these rare coffee lots.

Day 3: Exhibitors’ Coffee Auction

On the final day, roasters and producers will present their signature selections to a global audience of coffee experts and buyers. Preceded by tasting sessions, this auction offers exhibitors the chance to expand their international presence and foster long-lasting partnerships in the industry.

The Growing Coffee Market

The auction program comes at a time when the coffee market in the UAE is flourishing. Currently valued at over $3.2 billion, it is expected to reach $4.5 billion by 2029. Additionally, the regional coffee market is projected to exceed $22 billion within the next decade, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 4 to 5%. With coffee re-exports from Dubai surpassing AED 3.5 billion, the city’s vibrant café culture and demand for specialty coffee continues to cater to a quality-focused consumer base.

Dubai’s Role in Specialty Coffee Trade

Through the three auctions, World of Coffee Dubai reinforces its pivotal role in enhancing the emirate’s leadership in specialty coffee. The event integrates all players in the value chain, from farmers and producers to roasters, traders, and equipment manufacturers.
