WETEX 2023: A Hub for Innovation in Water and Energy

The 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) has officially commenced at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), this year’s event promises to be a significant gathering for industry leaders and innovators.

Leadership and Vision

Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and with the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, WETEX is set to run until October 2. This exhibition reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing sustainable practices and technologies in the energy and water sectors.

A Global Showcase

WETEX stands out as one of the largest specialized exhibitions globally, serving as a premier platform for showcasing cutting-edge innovations in various fields. These include energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainability, decarbonization, green mobility, and digital transformation. The event also highlights the growing importance of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in these sectors, making it a must-visit for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Participation and Exhibits

This year, the exhibition features an impressive lineup of 3,100 companies from 68 countries, all eager to present their latest technologies and projects. Spanning an expansive area of 95,000 square meters, WETEX includes 18 international pavilions. Notable additions this year are the Green Mobility Zone, the Health and Safety Hub, and the Delegation Zone, which aims to foster collaboration between local and international businesses and key government entities in the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Networking and Collaboration Opportunities

WETEX is not just about showcasing innovations; it also serves as a vital networking platform. The exhibition facilitates numerous meetings between companies, government bodies, private institutions, and investors through dedicated business-to-business and business-to-government platforms. This creates a unique environment for collaboration and partnership development.

Educational Seminars and Expert Discussions

In addition to the exhibits, DEWA is organizing over 135 specialized seminars and discussion sessions throughout the event. These sessions will feature a distinguished group of experts and specialists from around the world, providing valuable insights into the latest trends and challenges in the water and energy sectors.

Exploring Sustainability Initiatives

Exhibitors at WETEX will also have the opportunity to visit DEWA’s Sustainability and Innovation Centre, located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This tour will offer a closer look at the UAE’s initiatives in renewable energy and sustainable practices, further enriching the experience for participants.
