L’Oréal Saudi Arabia has recently released findings from a socio-economic impact study that highlights the beauty giant’s substantial contributions to the Kingdom’s economy and society. Since its entry into the Saudi market in 2012, L’Oréal has made significant strides, creating thousands of jobs and generating impressive sales figures, all while aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030 goals.

Economic Contributions

According to a study conducted by the Paris-based consultancy Asterès, L’Oréal has created 8,765 jobs across Saudi Arabia. This figure underscores the company’s role as a major employer in the beauty sector. Additionally, L’Oréal has achieved total sales of SR3.2 billion (approximately $853 million), showcasing its robust market presence.

L’Oréal has established itself as the leading beauty company in the Kingdom, reaching over 34 million consumers through a diverse portfolio of 31 brands. This extensive reach not only reflects the company’s popularity but also its commitment to catering to the unique preferences of Saudi consumers.

Social Initiatives

Beyond its economic impact, L’Oréal has implemented various social programs that have positively affected over 35,000 individuals in Saudi Arabia. These initiatives focus on empowerment, education, and community well-being:

Women’s Empowerment and Skills Training

L’Oréal is dedicated to empowering women in the workforce. The L’Oréal Professionnel Hairdressing Academy has trained over 100 Saudi women, with plans to certify more than 1,000 graduates by 2029. This initiative aims to equip women with valuable skills, enhancing their employability in the beauty industry.

STEM Leadership

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Middle East Program has been instrumental in supporting 57 Arab female scientists since its inception in 2014. Among these, 16 winners hail from Saudi Arabia, highlighting the program’s commitment to fostering female leadership in STEM fields.

Public Safety Initiatives

L’Oréal has also prioritized public safety through its partnership with the Himayah Organisation. More than 30,000 individuals have been trained in bystander intervention techniques as part of the Stand-Up Against Street Harassment program, promoting a safer community for all.

Support for Vulnerable Women

In collaboration with Himayah Organisation, L’Oréal has provided support to over 600 women through skills training and psychological care. This initiative aims to empower women and help them regain their independence.

Health Partnerships

L’Oréal’s commitment to health is evident through its Fight With Care initiative, which has assisted over 1,000 chemotherapy patients in partnership with King Faisal Specialist Hospital Foundation’s Wareef Charity. This program underscores the company’s dedication to improving health outcomes in the community.

Commitment to Sustainability

L’Oréal’s sustainability efforts are guided by the L’Oréal for the Future program, which was launched globally in 2020. This initiative focuses on three key pillars: circularity, community, and climate action. The company hosted its first sustainability summit in Jeddah in 2025, further solidifying its commitment to sustainable practices in the Kingdom.

The Garnier Green Beauty initiative, in collaboration with Naqaa Sustainability Solutions and Panda, has successfully recycled 348 tons of waste in Saudi Arabia. This effort reflects L’Oréal’s dedication to environmental stewardship and responsible waste management.

At the recent LEAP 2025 event in Riyadh, L’Oréal stood out as the only beauty tech company, showcasing over 20 AI-powered solutions designed to personalize beauty experiences while promoting sustainability. Additionally, the company introduced its L’Oréal Longevity Integrative Science initiative, which investigates the connections between beauty, health, and aging biology.
