IMS Dubai Set to Make Its Comeback in November 2025

Date:

The Return of the International Music Summit to Dubai

The International Music Summit (IMS) is set to make a dynamic return to Dubai this fall, specifically on November 13-14 at the 25hours Hotel One Central. This marks the conference’s second outing in the United Arab Emirates, following its successful debut in late 2024. Attendees can look forward to an engaging blend of panels, keynotes, and networking opportunities designed to bridge connections within the electronic music industry.

A Gathering of Industry Leaders

At the heart of IMS Dubai is its commitment to bringing together industry figures from the MENA region and beyond. The conference will feature a range of panels and discussions, offering insights into the latest trends and innovations within the electronic music scene. While specific programming details are still forthcoming, the event promises a rich tapestry of evening programming that will allow for further networking and collaboration.

The MENA Region’s Growth Market

The importance of the MENA region in the global music landscape cannot be overstated. The IFPI Global Music Report highlights that this area is experiencing unprecedented growth, labeling it as the world’s fastest-growing region for recorded music. With a staggering 22.8% revenue increase in 2024, MENA’s music market is largely driven by streaming, which comprises an impressive 99.5% of total revenue. This growth underscores the region’s burgeoning role as a hotspot for music consumption and innovation.

Insights from IMS Co-founder Pete Tong

IMS Co-founder Pete Tong expressed his excitement about returning to Dubai, commenting on the event’s growing significance for the region. “It’s exciting to see how IMS Dubai has already become a vital touchpoint for the region,” he noted. Tong emphasized the palpable energy, curiosity, and innovative ideas that emerged during last year’s conference. He highlighted the convergence of music, culture, finance, and technology as pivotal elements that set the stage for fruitful discussions and collaborations.

Moreover, Tong pointed out that Dubai is becoming a hub for forward-thinking creators, asserting that IMS is central to this movement by providing a platform that enhances visibility for both local and international talent.

Capturing the Global Landscape of Electronic Music

The IMS has a broader footprint beyond Dubai; its longstanding Ibiza edition recently took place, bringing together industry insiders to discuss the financial landscape of electronic music. The annual IMS Business Report is highly anticipated, as it provides essential insights into global market dynamics and future growth areas. This year’s report notably valued the global electronic music industry at a striking $12.9 billion for 2024, highlighting the sector’s tremendous potential.

Beating to the Rhythm of Change with Beatport

IMS is under the ownership of Beatport, a leader in the electronic music marketplace, which acquired a majority stake in the conference in 2023. This partnership signals a strategic alignment that aims to enhance the conference experience while capitalizing on Beatport’s extensive resources and industry connections.

As Dubai gears up to host IMS once again, the anticipation builds around the wealth of knowledge, networking opportunities, and cultural exchange that will take place, further solidifying its position as a key player in the global electronic music scene.
