U.S. Team Roster Revealed for World Junior Summer Showcase

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Hockey is gearing up for an exciting showcase as they announce the invitation of 42 players to participate in the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase. Scheduled from July 25 to August 2 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, this event promises to be a crucial stepping stone for young talents aiming to secure their spots on national teams.

The World Junior Summer Showcase not only brings together American talent but also incorporates players from powerhouse hockey nations, including Canada, Finland, and Sweden. This international gathering serves as an essential platform for athletes as they vie for positions on their respective national teams for the upcoming 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship. This championship will take place from December 26, 2025, to January 5, 2026, in the twin cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, showcasing some of the most promising and skilled young hockey players in the world.

Over the course of the week-long showcase, fans can look forward to witnessing 11 exciting international games. Tickets for these contests are currently available, allowing enthusiasts to capture the intense, competitive spirit of junior hockey at its finest. Of the 42 players invited, a notable nine were part of the gold medal-winning 2025 U.S. National Junior Team. This group includes standout defensemen like Logan Hensler from Woodbury, Minn., Cole Hutson from North Barrington, Ill., and Adam Kleber from Chaska, Minn. The forward lineup features talents such as Trevor Connelly from Tustin, Calif., Cole Eiserman from Newburyport, Mass., and Brodie Ziemer from Hutchinson, Minn., among others. These athletes represent a promising future for U.S. hockey, showcasing a blend of experience and raw talent on the ice.

The roster reflects a diverse range of talent from across the United States, with players hailing from 13 different states. Leading the pack is Minnesota, which boasts 14 representatives, followed by California and Illinois, each contributing five players. Other states like New York, Michigan, and Massachusetts also make their presence felt, adding to the rich tapestry of American hockey.

Furthermore, it’s noteworthy that all but three of the invited players have been drafted by NHL teams. This includes nine first-round picks, 13 second-round selections, and four players chosen in the third round. In total, 23 different NHL teams are represented among the drafted players, with the LA Kings and New York Islanders standing out as they each have four selections. This statistic underscores the high caliber of talent that will be on display during the showcase.

Leading the U.S. National Junior Team is John Vanbiesbrouck, serving as general manager for the eighth consecutive year, while Bob Motzko returns as head coach for his third stint. Under their guidance, the U.S. has seen remarkable success, clinching gold medals in the last two World Junior Championships and medaling in eight of the last ten events. This period marks the U.S.’s strongest medal stretch in its history, showcasing the depth and talent of American hockey.
