Beijing: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, met with Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. This meeting occurred during an official reception hosted by the Chinese Premier as part of Sheikh Khaled’s visit to China.

Li Qiang welcomed Sheikh Khaled and his delegation, wishing them a successful visit that would bolster bilateral cooperation. Sheikh Khaled expressed gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with China. He emphasized the importance of advancing collaboration in key sectors, particularly in economic and developmental areas, to support mutual interests and sustainable development.

Sheikh Khaled highlighted the necessity of building upon the longstanding relationship between the UAE and China. UAE-China Business Promotion Conference

A significant aspect of the visit was the UAE–China Business Promotion Conference, which gathered business leaders and investors from both nations. This conference aimed to explore opportunities in trade, investment, infrastructure, technology, and industrial development. The non-oil trade between the UAE and China reached approximately US$111 billion in 2025, underscoring the growing economic ties.

Addressing Regional and Global Challenges

The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of promoting stability and enhancing international coordination to tackle shared challenges. Both leaders underscored the need for peaceful solutions to conflicts, contributing to global peace and security.

Signing of Memoranda of Understanding

During the meeting, Sheikh Khaled and Li Qiang witnessed the signing of several memoranda of understanding aimed at further strengthening the UAE–China partnership. These agreements focus on various sectors, including clean energy, investment, sustainable agriculture, environmental sustainability, health sciences, and advanced technology. The emphasis on knowledge exchange and joint research programs is designed to foster deeper collaboration.

Li Qiang hosted a banquet in honor of Sheikh Khaled and his delegation, reflecting the close ties between the two nations. The dinner was attended by members of the official UAE delegation, alongside Chinese ministers, senior officials, and dignitaries. This occasion provided a platform for cordial discussions and further exploration of bilateral cooperation avenues.
