Celebrating Art and Women at Art Connects Women 2025

A Global Gathering of Creativity

From Bolivia to Bangladesh, Nigeria to New Zealand, women artists from around the world are coming together for a remarkable exhibition in Dubai. Art Connects Women 2025 opens its doors on April 8 at the DIFC Gate Village, featuring 112 talented female artists representing 112 different countries. This year’s edition promises to showcase the power of art and serve as a platform for women’s voices in the creative field.

The Theme: Leave a Legacy

Under the patronage of UNESCO, the exhibition revolves around the inspiring theme "Leave a Legacy." This theme not only highlights the myriad contributions of women to arts and culture but emphasizes the importance of creating a lasting impact through creative expressions. Visitors will find themselves surrounded by a rich tapestry of perspectives as various art forms—painting, sculpture, and mixed media—meet at this unique crossroads of culture.

Transforming DIFC into an Outdoor Gallery

From April 9 to 11, the DIFC’s Gate Village will transform into an outdoor gallery where artworks from diverse cultural backgrounds will be on display. Attendees can look forward to an immersive experience that celebrates women’s artistic endeavors, each piece narrating its own journey and legacy.

Cultural Exploration in Abu Dhabi

On April 9, the experience extends beyond the walls of the gallery. Participating artists will engage in a curated cultural tour of Abu Dhabi, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism. The planned visits to iconic sites like the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Public Art Biennale, and the Abrahamic Family House will enrich their understanding of culture and history. Later that evening, a concert will showcase international performers in a musical tribute to women’s creativity, further amplifying the celebration of art and culture.

Engaging Discussions on Impact and Policy

The dialogue continues on April 10 with DIFC Art Night. Here, the focus shifts toward crucial conversations around policy, finance, and social impact. A conference titled "From Finance to Sustainable Impact" will delve into the role of women in the creative economy. Panel discussions will cover a range of subjects, including financial literacy, sustainable investment, and art as a catalyst for social change. This initiative is key to fostering a more inclusive and empowered creative community.

A Ceremonial Finale

The exhibition will conclude on April 11 with a prestigious award ceremony at One&Only Royal Mirage. The event will honor the participating artists, encapsulating the spirit of the exhibition under the theme "We Are Legends: Women Leading the Way." This celebration not only recognizes individual achievements but also emphasizes the collective strength of women in the arts.

A Transformative Initiative

Art Connects Women, organized by ZeeArts Gallery in collaboration with DIFC, is now making its mark with the eighth edition of this remarkable initiative. This year’s event has gained recognition as a social impact initiative by Majra UAE. Founder Zaahirah Muthy expresses her excitement for this transformative moment, highlighting the initiative’s alignment with broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.

This exhibition is not merely an art showcase; it symbolizes hope, empowerment, and change. The collective efforts of these women artists serve as a poignant reminder that art transcends borders, cultures, and backgrounds.
